Frozen Bubbles
Frozen bubbles can display beautiful crystal formations. But how is one to make them? Chilly temps certainly help, but that isn't the whole story. When creating the original bubble, using a mixture of water, dish soap, and glycerin will create better results than just soapy water would. This is because adding glycerin lowers the freezing point, allowing the bubble to freeze correctly. Different temperatures may also create different patterns! For instance, temps as low as -18°C can create ice ferns, whereas the ice fern pattern shrinks into invisibility at tempts -20°C and lower.
